WHAT IS BODY TYPE TRAINING?

Introduced in the 1940's, Somatotyping, or “Body Typing” is a classification system originated by an American Psychologist used to determine or classify specific details about a person.  Two of those details are:

1. The genetic framework of their body and how it looks. (Bone structure, limb length etc.)
2. How well their body responds to food intake & exercise stimulus. (Metabolism, hormonal response etc.)

Differences in these two aspects are used to decide which path any given person 
should take in their journey to achieve their goals for fitness, health and physique
We already know that the same workout and nutrition plans will not work for everyone. 
By using  the Body Type Training System we can gain more detailed insight as to why 
certain workouts or diets aren't working and what to do to get a person 
on the right path based on their unique Body Type

So the only thing to figure out now is what Body Type you align with...

WHAT BODY TYPE ARE YOU?

THE ECTOMORPH: HARD GAINER

An Ectomorph has a light bone structure, long limbs, small joints, is not thick from the side profile and typically has a flat narrow chest . These individuals often have a hard time building and gaining strength or increasing their weight due to their faster metabolism and high overall carbohydrate requirement compared to the other two body types!
While being an Ectomorph may seem desirable to those who are constantly faced with the challenge of weight loss, the inability to gain weight can be just as frustrating. As Ectomorphs age, they typically are challenged with having more joint & bone loss injuries along with losing lean mass faster than the other two body types.  

THE MESOMORPH: MUSCULAR BUILD

A Mesomorph has medium bone structure, good symmetry, is often wider at the shoulders and narrower at the waist, and  has the ability to make muscle gains easily . Naturally athletic, ‘mesos’ can easily become top body builders or strength athletes. They find it easy to build muscle mass, are generally proportionally built and can lose and gain weight easily due to their mid range metabolism and fast twitch muscle fibers.
Although they have a tendency to gain muscle rather than fat, people with this type of body can become overweight if they do not exercise or eat correctly. In addition, they also face the problem of bulking up very easily when they do work out if they  don't play close attention to their food intake, food type or food timing.

THE ENDOMORPH: STOCKY BUILD

An endomorph has a thick bone structure and a tendency to hold more fat, appear overweight and often lacks definition.  They typically are wide at the shoulders, waist and thighs and share wider joints than both other body types.  Strength and size come easily for endomorphs who are generally softer/rounder and tend to store fat easily. Endomorphs tend to have curvy, fuller figures and struggle to keep their body-fat percentage in check as caloric expenditure needs to be high, followed by a nutrient dense low calorie diet.
Even though people with this body type may have a harder time maintaining a healthy weight, with a good diet and regular consistent exercise there is no reason why they cannot have a slim appearance.

Welcome brother, my name is Coach Dimitri and I’d like to share with you my decades of experience in fitness, nutrition and competition. Even though I’ve had many successes throughout the years it wasn’t always easy. In fact, like you I struggled with a deep dissatisfaction at the way my body looked and felt. As a kid I was thin for my age, a scrawny little guy (check out my 1st year high school team photos) who they used to make fun of giving me the nickname “Skinny Minny”.

I came from a dysfunctional family - father abandoned us, a tense,challenging relationship with my brother, and my mom (my first hero) struggled to hold it all down as a single mother. Dealing with being teased & bullied without a proper masculine role model was devastating. That’s where my obsession for working out and fitness erupted, my coaches became my mentors, guys like Arnold, Stalone, & Michael Jordan became my heroes. 
The deeper I got into the fitness world the more I wanted to do and the more I fell in love. I joined whatever high school teams I could: swim team, wrestling, football, rugby & soccer. Even though I worked harder than almost anyone else, my thin physique always held me back from excellence.  I was desperate for a solution.   Then my grade nine wrestling coach, Mr. Williams, introduced me to the Arnold Encyclopedia where  I came across the Body Type Philosophy.   
Once I started following it, everything changed!

I delved fully into it, I geared my nutrition, workouts and lifestyle around an understanding of what was needed and worked best for my specific Body Type. Over time my body transformed, my physique developed (went from 144 lbs in high school to competing at 195lbs) naturally without drugs and let me tell you, no one ever called me “Skinny Minny” again.

From there my successes snowballed, my passion for winning and competing flourished into trophies and achievements. But still that wasn't enough, I didn’t just want to serve myself, but help others with their goals.

And that’s where I transitioned into working for 8 years in the corporate fitness industry, from managing smaller boutique clubs to the largest corporate fitness chain in Canada (Premier and Bally Total Fitness). I even won personal training director and department of the year awards multiple times. Even though that experience taught me a lot it also showed me the inherent weakness of the corporate world.  All they wanted to focus on was high volume sales of the latest trend or fad, I wasn’t helping people with what I knew worked, what had worked for me – the Body Type System. And so I envisioned striking out on my own, doing things on my terms, to make a real impact.

So in 2009 I opened my own gym, 
Pure Motivation Fitness Studio and along with my wife Francesca and team of top tier trainers have been helping thousands of people with their goals over the past 16 years.

Things were going great, I was at the top of my career and I was finally feeling my team and I were making an impact! That is until we all got rocked by Covid-19 and the consequences that brought – lockdowns, isolation and an indifference for the fitness industry by the powers that be. On top of that, the father that had abandoned me years ago died, and details about his situation & lifestyle opened my eyes to the epidemic of mental health, stress and scarcity of masculinity that continues to plague men in our society.
This sad situation hit me like a ton of bricks and I felt a deep calling to do something about it. I was finally at the mature stage of my life to be able to give back to men in our society. Today, at the age of 44, I am determined to help make men better.  My purpose now is to be a guide for men towards balancing fitness, food and family. I want to be a driving force towards sculpting the person you always wanted looking back at you in the mirror!

This program will primarily teach you how to structure your workouts, nutrition and lifestyle habits around your specific "Body Type" - scientific principles that will maximize your results and get you speeding towards your goals. You will learn what to eat, when to eat it and what to do for exercise, when and how often!

 How is this different than all the other workout programs I’ve already tried?

This program doesn't leverage the latest trends and fads that often are marketing gimmicks designed to trick people into believing in secret techniques or impossible results. I  base my programs around my 3 decades of experience teaching my clients the science of Body Type Training and develop a steady methodical pace towards your reaching your goals.  In addition, whenever you find yourself stuck, simply reach out and text me what you need to get back on track, and we'll make it happen! 

  Will I get a step-by-step roadmap even if I’m just getting back into shape?

YES! My job is to give you a new, revamped roadmap, paved with my Body Type approach, that will optimize the remolding of your physique.  I will literally map out  what physical activities you need to do each day along with a nutritional guideline tailored to your body type.  I will also teach you the proper technique and provide over 300 exercise demonstrations in my app, along with share SMS text message communication with you daily!

  Can I pay you after I lose the weight?

100% YES! In fact this is one of the main pillars of what makes my program work so well. Once we set up your weekly training, nutrition and lifestyle habits you will be provided a weekly no BS check-in form for me to examine and keep you on track.

   Do I need a gym membership to participate?

The PURE Body Type Training Program works on  your terms.  Whether you're in a gym, you have a home set-up or you're a true beginner with absolutely NO equipment at all, I've got your covered. There will be workout demos available for every situation!

   Do I need to be ready to train 2 hours a day and 6 days a week?

Absolutely not! Im a father, family man and run a business myself and I know how limited our time really is!  The workouts are designed with a results to time ratio, meaning I want to get you in and out of the gym or your workout area in less than 60 min, 3-4 days per week.  

   Do you oversee my actual workout program and nutrition plans?

Yes! I will personally be monitoring every detail of your plan and when you submit your weekly check-in form,  or provide me questions or areas your stuck in, this will allow me to monitor your data and make any changes to keep you dialed in and on track.   This way  I can follow up, view your logged progress, or lack of, to hold you accountable.

   How long does your program last?

The PURE Body Type Training experience is a six month All In Fitness & lifestyle transformation program that has different workouts and training principles programmed for you each month.  For those who have much larger goals, require more assistance or coaching we can provide yearly membership plans as well. 

   Is there a discount if you pay-in-full?

100%, like all businesses or educational programs,  if you are willing to show me your commitment by paying in full you save money, receive complimentary services and receive far more value than making payments. Remember, this is an investment in you!   

   I have never hired a fitness coach and it’s intimidating. Shouldn’t I make some progress on my own first?

You definitely could, but why walk to a destination when you could drive to it? 

By working with me you get to leverage my 3 decades of fitness expertise and the science behind my Body Type Training System! Isn't it more intimating to have to figure it all out yourself and make mistakes that could have easily been avoided? Imagine the time, effort and headaches you will save by working with me.

   What if I have food allergies? Will you force me to eat what’s on your meal plan?

I will NOT put you on any sort of strict, boring, or BS meal plan brother!  Once we set up your meal plan we can work around the foods you like or dislike or are able to eat.

   Can I still drink wine on the weekends?

I'm Greek & my wife is Italian so I understand the cultural aspect of wine at meals and can reassure you that I believe in  being strategic with my nutritional program which will allow you to enjoy a healthy glass of vino, no problem!
